After a successful ‘first phase’ roll-out of the This Girl Can Community Grants scheme in Birmingham back in March this year, I am delighted to announce that there is another opportunity for organisations within the city to apply for up to £300 to deliver physical activity and sport sessions for women and girls.
For full details, please see the below email and this application form Community Grant Application FINAL (which outlines the application criteria) and return this to shirin.mehmood@birmingham.gov.uk.
Please share with anyone who you think will be interested.
Thanks.

Dear All,
Hopefully you have heard of This Girl Can, it’s a campaign aimed to get women throughout the nation active and thinking about their own physical, mental and social wellbeing. We have already celebrated the success of the first phase of the project that was launched earlier on this year, with our main focus being on Sunday 8th March (International Women’s Day). Sport England were very impressed and please with how we celebrated the first phase of the campaign ‘This Girl Can’ that they were more than happy to fund Birmingham for a second time!
Now we want more local people to get involved around all of Birmingham and get women moving to activities of their choices. We want to celebrate active women everywhere who are doing their thing no matter how they do it, how they look or even how sweaty they get.
So…to take this local again, there is a community grants application process where organisations and groups can apply for up to £300 to activate a sport/activity for women and girls. Previously funded groups can also apply for the money and hopefully increase in the success of the first round.
Please read and complete the application form attached in this email and submit it as soon as possible. Success of application are on a first come first served basis, so please do not miss out on this brilliant opportunity to get involved.
If you have any queries, please contact me on the email below and I will be more than happy to respond to any questions you may have.
Many Thanks,
Shirin Mehmood
